V. nanae similis sed foliis crassioribus, foliis plantarum in aquis non profundis rigentibus erectisque, perseverantibus ubi aquis recessis expositis, foliis juvenilibus acutis sed foliis maturis obtusis, differt.



Translation
Similar to V. nana but it [V. erecta] differs with thicker leaves, with leaves of plants in not deep waters stiff and erect, persevering [i.e. continuing to remain stiff and erect] where exposed by receded waters, [and] with young leaves acute but with mature leaves obtuse.
