Arbor usque ad 12 m alta, in sylvis valde inundatis, tronco parum sulcato basin versus inde radicellas rigidas vulgo instructa, ligno inferiori levissimo, ramis superioribus aliquantim tortuosis; foliis obellipticis 3-10 x 1.5-5 cm; inflorescentiis 2-6 cm longis; staminibus 5 nectariis alternatibus; seminibus 10-12 x 7-8 mm.



Translation
A tree all the way to 12 m high, in heavily flooded woods, with a trunk slightly furrowed toward the base then commonly provided with stiff rootlets, with the lower wood very light in weight, with the upper branches somewhat twisted; witn obelliptic leaves 3-10 x 1.5-5 cm; with inflorescences 2-6 cm long; with 5 stamens with alternating nectaries; with seeds 10-12 x 7-8 mm.
