Directions: From the intersection of Routes 3 and 102/198 at the north end of Mount Desert Island, go straight ahead (south) onto Routes 102/198. History: In a deed (Hancock County Registry of Deeds book 806, page 331; 21 November 1957) to John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Martha B. Rockefeller, Laura Haynes Dolliver reserved for herself and "her heirs and assigns, the right of access on foot in a reasonable location to the cemetery lot measuring about thirty feet by thirty five feet ... for the purpose of maintaining said cemetery lot and the graves therein". The Rockefellers, and later the United States which obtained the land from them (819:486; 3 April 1958), promised that "there shall be no further burials made in said cemetery lot" and that they "will not destroy the graves nor remove the bodies in said cemetery lot, and ... will take all reasonable steps to prevent vandalism".

Notes: The cemetery is enclosed by a wire mesh fence with wood posts with an opening between one pair of adjacent posts. The grass is mowed.
