During the history of the town of Aurora, there has been only the Aurora post office.

Briefly, its history is as follows:
1. Aurora post office was established on 20 September 1833 and is still operating.

1833 September 20:
   Aurora post office opened. (source: Maine Philatelic Society. 1995. The Post Offices of Maine: A Rarity Guide.)

1852:
   Postmaster: Roswell Silsby (source: Maine Register and State Reference Book. 1852.)

1932 October 15 through 1946 January 4:
   The circular postmark is 32–33 mm in diameter. The horizontal bars to the right of the circle are approximately 6 mm apart on center.
         

1953 December 16:
   The circular postmark is 31–33 mm in diameter. The outside vertical height of the four horizontal bars to the right of the circle is 18–19 mm.
      

1999 May 7:
   The outer circle of the postmark is 28–29 mm in diameter; the inner, 18–19 mm.
      

today:
   Aurora post office is still in operation.
