Topsham Cemeteries

Welcome to the Topsham Cemeteries web site. The purpose of this site is to provide basic cemetery information and pertinent notes so individual researchers will not have to "reinvent the wheel" by tracking down the same material that others have already found.
The following six cemeteries are from the database of the Topsham Assessors Office. Maine Old Cemeteries Association also lists an Elmwood Cemetery and a Patten Cemetery. I have not determined yet if either of these cemeteries is the same as one of those listed below or if not, where it(they) is(are) located.

Eaton Cemetery
Location. 54 River Road. Topsham tax map R01, lot 56.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Water Street (directly across Route 201 from Elm Street) and the cemetery is on the left in 1.2-1.3 miles. The cemetery is on a flat area above a steep bank, immediately after Rainbow Court. It cannot be seen from the road when approaching as in these directions, but two stones can be seen when coming from the opposite way.

First Parish Cemetery
Location. 383 Middlesex Road. Topsham tax map R08, lot 63.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Route 24 north, and the cemetery is on the right in 2.4-2.5 miles.
Description. 2.94 acres

Haley Cemetery
Location. 81 River Road. Topsham tax map R05, lot 113.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Water Street (directly across Route 201 from Elm Street), and the cemetery is on the right in 1.4-1.5 miles.
Description. 1.58 acres

Riverview Cemetery
Location. 27 Elm Street. Topsham tax map U06, lot 11B.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Route 24 north, and the cemetery is on the right in 0.2 miles.

Rogers Cemetery
Location. 60 Cathance Road. Topsham tax map R09, lot 68.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Route 24 north 2.5-2.6 miles to the intersection on the left with Cathance Road. Turn left onto Cathance Road, and the cemetery is on the left in 0.2-0.3 miles.

White Cemetery
Location. 116 Old Lisbon Road. Topsham tax map R02, lot 69A.
Directions. From the intersection of Routes 201 (Main Street) and 24 (Elm Street), follow Route 201 north 0.7-0.8 miles to the intersection on the left with Route 196. Follow Route 196 west for 3.4-3.5 miles to the intersection on the left with Old Lisbon Road. Turn left onto Old Lisbon Road, and the cemetery is on the left in approximately 0.1 miles.
