There are twelve sites with at least one gravestone in Southwest Harbor. Of the ten identified on the town tax maps (viewed on 10 August 2010), none is marked as owned by the town. The locations of the Dolliver Family Burial Ground (within the bounds of Acadia National Park) and the Doliver Grave (on private property) are not shown on the town maps.
   Unmarked burial sites include:
Fernald Point - Gilbert Du Thet was one of two Jesuits and 48 sailors who attempted to establish a settlement in 1613, the location of which is thought by historians to have been Fernald Point. Du Thet and two others were killed in July of that same year during an encounter with Samuel Argall and his crew whose orders were to remove all French settlers. The three were buried at the location of the attempted settlement.
Flynn's Point - "A man by the name of Michael(?) Flynn had a house at Flynn's Point and was buried there, though no one knows the exact spot." (from page 204 of Mrs. Seth Thornton's 1938 book Traditions and Records: Southwest Harbor and Somesville)
